It could be wiring issues, have you hooked it up to a diagnostic machine?

there is supposely a egr sensor located on the rear manifold that has fixed that problem

2003 Taurus/24v OHC: Lean fuel mixture both banks one and two.EVAP and EGR show up on emissions check. Upstream heated O2 sensors code out on code reader. Any helpful suggestions to these problems would be appreciated. I have replaced both upstream sensors with no positive results.

I have spent over $700 on my car at the Dealer because my mechanic couldn't figure out my problem. I recently had my engine replaced in my 2001 ford Escape. Idle was way too high. Dealer told me I had a faulty IAC Valve and DPFE valve. Replaced both of these. Light came back on. I took it back to them, told me I had a vacumm leak in my intake manifold. Costed me another couple of dollars, however, my idle went back to normal. Thank God up above I said. Spoke to soon, over the weekend, a P0401 code came on, EGR valve. Replaced that on my own, light went off and came back on the next day. What is GOING ON? What is this with Ford. It is not the EGR Valve, the EGR sensor and it is not the DPFE because I changed them all already. You know what the dealers should be sued for ripping us off and Ford should be put out of business for making such ty cars. I am tired of this. I am tired.

Can anyone help me? I have a 2001 ford taurus 3.0 DOHC and my check engine light came on thus i failed my smog, after replacing the EGR valve, EGR pressure sensor, Throttle position sensor (TPS) and my Mass airflow sensor the problem seems to have went away I now have another issue which was occuring at the same time which i thought would have been solved in replacing all those parts. My car seems to be running ragged but it's strange because it only happens at a cold start and there is only a problem when it is idling both in neutral or in drive at a stop light. I've been noticing for a while now that I've been leaking transmissin fluid, but suprisingly It's coming from though the tranny's dipstick. My dad has been a Ford mechanic for about 17 yrs and he can't even figure it out. Can any1 tell me what could be the cause of this??? It would be greatly appreciated..
