Ranger Electrical Problem

My 92 Ranger electrical is acting up . I have a new Altinator and most of the time the gage is a little on the charge side, but lately it will spike all the way to the 18v side and at other times it will go half way to discharce. The little battery symble will lite up . This will stay for a minunit or so then every thing goes back to normal. This has happened 4 times in the last two days.

hello. I need to know where is located the electric sensor inside de machine. I do not find it in the leva. that is because the pistons number one and number tree are no receiving signal from the cols. the cols are good. we need to chek the sensors but no idea of the location. could you let me know where are located please.
