I lost one of my key fobs. I am now down to only one working fob. I purchased another one. In order to program it I am told I need to have "two" working fobs. Is there a way around this to program a new fob without going to the dealership?

I HAVE A 96 E150 AND 99 EXPEDITION, HOW DO PROGRAM KEY FOBS.

I'm told this works. Can't hurt to try.

1. Make sure that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered.

2. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN eight times within 10 seconds , ending in RUN. Program mode can also be entered if the ignition switch is cycled from OFF to START four times within 10 seconds , ending in RUN. If the RAP module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.

3. Press any button on a key less entry remote transmitter within 20 seconds of step 2 and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait a few seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test D.
