Ford-Fairmont - 1978 Ford Fairmont Alternator problem.

I have a 1978 Ford Fairmont with 35, 000 miles and the printed circuit board was mounted in a syrofoam base andit disintegrated, (fell into crumbs. So, I removed it and hard wired the intrument panel whish was difficult enough. Everything works exept the alternator does not charge. Even though the original alternator tested Ok. I replaced it and the voltage regulator and still it is not charging. There is no battery drain.Could that printed circuit board have been wired into the charge circuit? I had long ago installed a set of aftermarket gauges and they are still working. Any thought or advice will be appreciated. Thanks Jim Branno

I HAVE AN 82 FORD 150 ECONOLINE XL 6 CYL 4.9 L ENGINE. MY ALTERNATOR SEIZED WHEN I WAS DRIVING. I REPLACED IT WITH A REBUILT ONE - 100 AMP. THE NEW ALTERNATOR IS NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY. THE VOLTAGE IS 12.3 THE BATTERY IS A BOSCH PREMIMUM POWER PART #35-640B / CCA @O DEGREE F 640 / CA @32 DEGREE F 770 / RC MIN @25 AMPS: 100 . THE BATTERY IS APPROX. 5 WEEKS OLD. I HAD TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR APPROX. 7 YEARS AGO, WHEN ANOTHER BATTERY FAILED. DID I DAMAGE THE BATTERY OR THE ALTERNATOR. IS THIS BATTERY GOOD ENOUGH?THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
