F350 Central locking fault

Hi, I have an F350 model yr '99, the central locking is playing up, and when I say playing up, I mean it's not working. The remote is fine, the alarm works fine and as far as I can tell all the solenoids are trying to work, they just dont. As in, I can hear them trying to work. It's almost like the vehicle thinks there is a door open and the locking wont work. The interior light goes out when all the doors are shut so I thinks the door switches are ok, unless there is more than one switch per door!
