strange problem with 99 superduty 7.3 diesel. tail lights not working, brake lights and signal lights work. when i turn off key a buzzing noise starts in dash, stops when i turn hazards or signal on, starts again when hazards/signal off. stops when i turn key on. what the hell is this buzzer? is it related to tail lights (i checked fuses)?

I have a 2002 f250 diesel that will die after about 4 to 5 minutes running. When I jump it, it will run at 12 volts for a minute and the gradually go down until it drop below 9 volts and finally dies. I have new alternator and batteries. What else might cause this problem?

my horn went off in the middle of the night on my F 250 C/C truck. as this is not tied into any security system, what would have caused this.As I found out later the horn actually burnt out. When you push the horn button you can hear the solenoid clicking in the dash.Is the horn actually burnt out?

I purchased a 2005 F-250 super duty 6.0 diesel with 68000 km. Great truck but twice now it won't start. This happens when the engine is warm and I try to start it and it's like the battery is dead, no clicking no starter trying to kick in nothing. When I turn the key every function is OK (glow plug etc.)the lights dim like a dead battery. I leave it over night and it starts perfect and won't happen again for weeks.

Had the battery's checked, cables to the starter checked. Can't find anything obvious.

Any body out there with similar problems

I have 2005 SuperDuty F250. Occassionaly first thing in the morning, the radio and power windows are inoperable. Does not happen all the time. Typically I drive a few blocks and they start working. Dealer traded out relays with no remedy.

Any ideas?

door ajar light stay on all the time, power door locks will not work from doors or from key chain, and the radio has constant power even when the key is off and not in the ignition. Any ideas?

I have an 2005 F250HD diesel. It would not start and I replaced one of the batteries and fine, it started ok. Then a couple of days later it was hard to start and on the way home the radio went out, the abs light came on, then all gauges including the tach and speedometer needles went left. It died as i pulled onto my street and would not start again. Everyone said replace the altenator and I did. I turn the key and all the dash lights that are suspose to come on do but then they cut off with a little whimper at the end with the gauge needles slightly fluctuating before it dies completely. Any clue?

We have a 2006 Ford Excursion, with a 5.4 Triton with 62, 000 miles. When the motor is cold, like when you first crank it, it has plenty of power when going down the road. When normal tempatures are reached, the motor does not have any power. The motor does not skip or miss, no misfires, it just seems to have no power and the computer shows no codes what so ever.

We thought it may be a cat converter or a collapsed muffler, but ruled that out by dropping the exhaust, still the same thing. We also replaced the torque converter. As I say, no codes and plenty of power when motor is cold, but no power when normal operating temp is reached.

I have a 2005 F350 cc 6.0. when I first start it no matter if its hot or cold it blows white smoke real bad for 30 minutes or some times longer , then some times at an idal, Then some times it wont start at all. I have a 2004 Ford F250 diesel 6.0. Just recently my truck has been majorly hesitating when I am stopped and attempting to accelerate. Then it bucks for approx. 15 seconds before it finally lets loose and takes off. One of the times it let off a huge cloud of white smoke when it let loose. I changed the air filter and added fuel additive in case of bad gas. I will be changing the fuel filters next. Any ideas what else might be causing this problem?

I have 2008 Ford F250 Diesel 4x4. 10 months old, It just started giving me problems while driving. I can be driving at a moderate speed/RPM and may need to pass another vehicle increasing RPM's to 3000/3500 and all of a sudden the vehicle will lose power not able to pass 2000 RPMs. If I pull over, shut off the engine and restart, the vehicle will resume normal function. Check engine never comes on, I brought it to dealership which in turn changed out the fuel rail system and added fuel treatment. The vehicle is still having the same episodes. What could be the problem.

I have a good One!!! If I hook my trailer to my truck, when I step on the brakes it kills my 7.3 diesel. It will start right back up, but dies when I step on the brake to shift. It won't happen with the brake controler off. Please Help.

I see that at least one other has experianced my problem. I have 2004 F-250 SD 6.0 Lariat Ext Cab.

The electric door locks, radio, and overhead map lights have all stopped working at the same time. Fuses test good, door lock ckt breaker is passing 12v. Any body found a solution?

2006 250 with auto temp air conditioning when i turn air off the fan motor blows on high through the defroster. when the air is on it still blows on high, the fan light appears to adjust from steeringwheel and controll pannel but doesnt change fan speed, stays on high no matter what i do. so i bought a new controll pannel for 300 bucks. disconnected batteries, changed pannel still broke. check with my programmer and no codes show. any help is appreciated thanks.

this proglem happend about 2 months ago and i plugged my programmer in and deleted a dtc code. problem solved. now problem now returned so i replaced the controll pannel still blows on high when you turn ac controlls offbut through defroster with no lights on in controll pannel thanks

i have a 99 f250 diesel and i keep blowing the number 30 fuse in the cab fuse box..it runs fine for a couple minutes then the fuse will blow and it wont start and when the fuse is blown the wait to start light wont light up. i replace the fuse and it will blow before i can start it again ..anyone have any input or similar problems? any advice would be greatly appreciated

2000 F-250 superduty v-10 auto. hard shifts and the speedo stops working. sometimes when you drive the speedo starts to flip out and jump all over when you hit bumps. I had it on my hoist and ran it and the speedo would not work, I shut the truck off, pulled out the diode for the pcm, put it back in and started it and the speedo worked. I drive about half mile down the road it acts up again. I've changed the rear abs/speed sensor cause thats what my scanner said was bad, didn't work. followed the wires from the rear sensor to the abs control module and then to the pcm. all connections are good and I did not find broken wires anywhere. Any ideas? the dash has also been changed once, not something I did.

Lost automatic lights, door-locks went crazy had to pull fuses for the body security module/door locks, fuse bank location (102)also under the dash was another clicking noise after pulling the (102) fuse, pulled the body security module/4x4 module, fuse (19). 1999 F-250 Super Duty On cold mornings the whole dash is dead. No oil pressure, alternator, or fuel gauge. Glow plugs don't come on. No speedometer either. Everything else in the cab seems to ok. When it warms up everything works fine. Any ideas?

I have a 1999 Ford F250 Superduty with a 7.3L diesel. I currently have replaced the camshaft sensor and still no change. I have lost electricity to the fuel pump and fuel heater and fuel injectors. I have checked all of the fuses and have no problems there. This engine will not run. The inertia( shut off) switch in the cab is still set. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? I have a 2003 F350 with a particular problem.

Start every morning and run great but once in a while Ill stop somewhere and when I try to re-start it will crank but wont start. Is like fuel doesn't reach. I'd check the fuel filter and is full. So I flush it and you can see fuel on the ground.

Also try to take the battery cables out and reinstalling in order to reset the cpu and still does not start. but if you let it be for a few hrs it will start again and run all day.

Please let me know if you can help with this matter, I try the dealer ship and THEY DIDN'T FIX IT

I have a 1994 F-250 7.5 liter gas motor. this morning when I started it after about 20 seconds the idle faltered. When depressing the accelerator peddle the engine would rev, but poped and sputtered and eventualy died. after setting about a minuet it would restart with the same rutine. Black smoke from the exhaust. It ran fine yesturday.

2002 F 250 7.3L 4x4. Truck does not have any throttle response, just idle, no instrument gauges or instrument cluster lights. Checked fuses, fuses are not blown but I do not have power to fuses 41 through 48. Looked under the hood for another fuse box and I don't see/have one. I have a small box (3"x4"x3") with what looks like relays. Truck is set up for fifth wheel/camper so maybe fuse box was removed? I did have my boat trailer hooked up at the time but had towed with out any problems the night before. Any information provided would be appreciated. Thanks.

For about a week this truck hesitated to start, eventually starting the truck would run and start the rest of the day.

Today it simply won't start.

A Ford mechanic advised to replace the CAM-SENSOR-Done.

I have a 2000 F-250 and the fuse for the brake lights and cruise control keeps blowing. The ABS light comes on after about 10 minutes of driving. This problem did not start untill I had new brakes put on at Pep-Boys. I've checked everything that know of but it keeps blowing.

some of you dont sound like you should even be checking your own oil with these stupid questions...for example the guy with the dual batteries in the superduty diesel...if you use common sense and LOOK you will find that both batteries are tied in together...they dont operate seperate things...they require 2 batteries to crank the engine over at a optimum cranking speed..so if your going to be a cheap ass with your cheap 3amp charger you best disconnect the batteries and charge them seperately for a long period of time (im guess its low on power), maybe you have a dead battery and its only running off one...

I have a 2008 F250 diesel that was a year old in FEB and whenever it rains and I try to accerlerate it does not have the power to pass another vehicle or when I tow my horse trailer or boat in the rain it will begin missing badly. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times for this and they cannot find anything wrong and it will not cause a light for the computer to find an error. The condition is the engine will bigin to flutter as it is on 3 cylinders and I can stop and it will clear until I push the pedal in to the passing gear. I need help from FORD. in the morning cold under hard accelaration it misses and skips and pops, the check engine light will flicker on and off, it also will go into limp mode , show the wrench symbol on dash, wont go over 2miles an hour with the pedal to the floor, turn the truck off, crank it back up runs fine, does it out of the blue, seems like it does it more often when i suddenly take my foot off the gas pedal real quick, did it when i first bought truck new ford said it was a loose ground wire any help would be appreciated

hello, i have a 2006, f-350, 6.0 diesel, i changed my fuel filter, and fuel conditioning module filter, and ever since then, i keep getting , an error , water in fuel, well i've drained the conditioning module, nothing 3works to get rid of message , how do i get it to reset.

found the problem . the wire coming out of the shifter shaft that powers the o/d rubs back n forth when the shifter is pulled. the dust boot at the base of the shifter holds the wire to the steering colum. From = (marc d. briggs)

OR, try this:

Pull the cluster, pretty simple on this truck. On the right side there there are two plugs that go in the cluster. The bottom two pins on both conrners of the left plug should have battery power. If not go to fuse f2.45 or fuse f2.41. If those are both good and you have no power at the plug, repair the broken wire, (which is what our problem was) From = (JOE A)

I FIXED IT; A LOOSE CONNECTION ON FUSES 4 AND 19. From = (JEFF)

i have a 2004 excursion with 6.0 liter diesel 4x4 and the left and right brake lites do not work. the center third brake lite works and so does tail lites and signals. i have changed both brake lite bulbs and nothin. the truck is bone stock and never been wrecked. can anyone help????

I have a f 350. Recently had the gauge cluster changed cause they figured that was the problem. I will be driving along then I will loose power windows. The gauges all fall. I loose radio and interior lights. The truck won't completly die. But it will just put along with not much power when I step on the gas. Then all of a sudden everything will come back on and I have my regular power back again. Feels like I have no turbo when it cuts out. If anyone knows anything about this it would be greatly appreciated. Its a 2006 f350 with a 6.0litre. Thanks.

I have a 2005 f250 with 6.0 diesel. I am having the same problem as several others. Occassionaly the truck won't start. It cranks normally but just won't start. The next day it will run fine. Dealership can't find the problem. Has anyone figured out what is causing this problem in so many trucks?

Are problems related or coincidence? ABS light came on, speed odometer doesn't work under 30mph, and overdrive light blinks. The speed odometer and overdrive light begin to work once I reach 30mph. All three problem occured at the same time so I believe they are related.

my 2003 f150 at times will not start. It turns but sounds like no spark or fuel getting through. I know when it will happen. If I turn the key on to the first position and before I try to start, the speedometer and tack both go all the way up to the max position. I know that its not going to start. Will just keep trying to turn over

I have a 1994 F250 HD, 4X4 w/ 460 gas engine. It has been a great truck w/ 155K miles so far. Last weekend as I was driving in a pretty hot day (95 degrees F) while pulling an empty flat bed trailor the engine was cutoff and the truck coasted on the bottom of my driveway.

When you turn the key now the engine rotates but it the truck does not start. Power windows don't work any more. Troubleshot the fuses and found out that Fuse #17 (50Amp Maxi)in Power Distribution Box in the engine compartment was blown. If I replace it with a new one it blows the new one also. Can anybody give me any more clues of what could the problem be?

I found on a previous ford truck that that issue is caused from a loose or broken ground wire. This particular ground wire was beside the battery on the fender wall. the nut needed tightened.

i have a 03 f-250 6.0 while i was driving all my dash gauges went dead except for my turn indicator and highbeam indicator. while the truck is running and the driver door is open it makes the noise to let u know the key is in the ignition but it should only make that noise when it is off. i checked all the fuses and it looks good. any ideas?

Door locks work with remote but not on door panel switch

Daytime lights will not come on

Dome light works on switch but not when door is opened

2006 250 with auto temp air conditioning when i turn air off the fan motor blows on high through the defroster. when the air is on it still blows on high, the fan light appears to adjust from steeringwheel and controll pannel but doesnt change fan speed, stays on high no matter what i do. so i bought a new controll pannel for 300 bucks. disconnected batteries, changed pannel still broke. check with my programmer and no codes show. any help is appreciated thanks.

I have a 2006 F250. The Automatic A/C is having issues.

The Automatic A/C controls will only blow through the Defroster Vents on the dash. You can go to manual mode and the buttons to change to different vents, when pushed, will light up on the A/C Display but the vents will not change. What is the deal.

I can still control the temp, fan speed, A/C will turn off and on.

2003 f250 the power door locks work from the passenger side but if you use the lock switch on the drivers side the wire starts to smoke ...doese not lock or unlock truck..changed actuater makes no difference..

I need help, I have 2001 F250 V10. My OD light flashes on gear shift, no tranny issues.. Odometer will cut out, In R and D gears speakers quit working, Radio stays on, no sound. When I shut truck off, I get a clicking from a relay behind dash but I can't find it and radio, fan motor stay on, and i get the key in ignition beeping when I open door after truck is off(obiviously with out key in igntion)? can not keep compass and fuel calibrated. Both will be working fine and then the next time I start the pickup the direction will be wrong or I get mileage from 2.9 miles to 21.4 miles average per gallon. Help what is going on?

Have a 1996 Ford F-250 Power Stroke and cruise control went out. I checked fuses under dash and fuses underhood with no luck. Does anyone have suggestions, is there an inline fuse? All other accessories seem to work fine.

I have a 2003 f250 5.4L went to get it inspected they said two o2 sensor were bad so I replaced them did not work the mechanic said fuse or cpu checked fuses they were good replaced cpu and still not ready what else can I do??

Ok here is a new one for everyone. Today I started my 2004 F-250 as usual and ran great as usual. Tonight I go to turn the headlights on and my window washer starts spraying on its own. Then I noticed the right turn signal is slightly lit on the dash and I have no right turn signal at all. If I cut back to just running lights everything is fine. But the min my head lights are on this starts all over. Oh and my right head light is dim. Also if I push the horn my window washer sprays when the head lights are on. And lastly if I run the air blower on any speed other than low I can use my turn signals as normal but the washer motor still runs.

Please any ideas?????
