Ford-F250 - non working air vents/no heat

My husband has a F250 diesel truck. The only vent that works is the one on the floor, and that is because he rigged it up to stay open. Also he has no heat. Since he will wait till last minute I thought I would try to find out what can be done or if anyone knew what the problem isThank You

I have a 2002 Ford F250. The only direction the air flows is thru the defrost. It doesn't make any difference where the control knob is set. I do have heat and a/c but it only comes out the defrost.

Where is the vacuum pump located on a 2006 F250 diesel?

craig and shirley. heater will default to defrost when there is no vacuum. Pump is in engine compartment on passenger side in front of heater motor.

I have a f250 with a 6.8L and under acceleration I loose vacuum. I have sprayed the complete vacuum system and intake and found no leaks.
