I recently purchased a 2008 F-250 diesel. I am having considerable problems with the air filter collecting snow and needing to be replaced. I am sure others have had this problem as the dealership had told me this was a design flaw that Ford has not fixed. I now have 2 spair filters but am having to change it once a month. I live in Northern Michigan with plenty of snow and this is getting to be a pain to keep up with. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem? I have the K&N filter will fix it but not sure and was curious what others thought before dropping the $350.

Anu help is greatly appreciated.

No one has ever encountered this problem before??? No opinions on the K&N filter either?

Put a plate a few inches in front of the intake hose to block the direct intake of snow. This should allow the snow to drop out before going into the air cleaner.
