|i have a 86 bronco. i jus put 44 x 18 in wheels on it. it also has a 4 in lift on it. it drives fine in 4 L and 4 H but jumps around in two low? what do you think is causin this?|

|Good Job everyone. I just hd to respond to a house fire at midnight and my F150 was stuck in 4low. No good. When I got home around 330am I looked the trouble up and found you guys. Problem solved Thank you all|
|I had tried all of the various actions I thought! I then shifted in to Neutral and stepped on the Brake and Bingo! The FWD low lights went out!|
|I have a 2003 F-150 4x4 and am having trouble with the transfercase refusing to shift out of low/high range on demand.|
I seldom use either and can find no reason for this. The las time it happened I drove into the driveway stuck in 4x4 low. I shift bsck and forth between 2x4, 4x4h and 4x4L, put into park and shifted into neutral. It finally seemed to be in 2x4 mode, but the dash light was not on indicating this. I moved the vehicle into the garage. Then checked out a 7" circle of fluid where I had been doing the various shifting changes. It appeared to be a clear slightly oilly feeling substance with a slight oil like smell. There were several smaller spots in line with the larger and they had began to evaporate. Soon the larger circle evaporated too. I had been using the pickup to remove a tree stump in the yard and had not gone far. When in 4x4 low, reverse and pulling it did not seem to have much power and it was making quite a bit of noise so I stopped and tried to shift back to 2x4 mode.
|HAVE A 97 F150 ITS STUCK IN 4LOW THE FUEL PUMP WENT ON IT I REPLACED IT , IT WORK FINE FOR 2-3 DAY AND THEN THIS HAPPEN I CANT GET IT OUT OF 4X4LOW STILL RUNS AND DRIVES BUT WONT GO OVER 40 KM/HR ALSO THE AIR BAG CAME ON BLINKING 5 TIMES A PAUSE AND THEN 2 TIMES PLEASE HELP|

|Always had problems getting in and out of 4 Wheel low on my 2004 F 150. Just back from garage where they said it was a common problem and linkage needed to be taken apart cleaned and well lubed. tried neutral.....brake and floor shift and magic! Thanks for saving me $ and hearache|

|my 97 ford f150 went in to 4 low and now wont come out. i put a new transfercase swich motor on. did not help. also i do have 5.5 at the swich in cab what els can i check?? i did manuly get itin too 2 wheel by removing the motor and swiching it myself .. but when i put the new one on the dash clicked and back into 4 low it went |
|I have a 89 f150 with 302 and put it in four low the other day while stuck and now it wont come out tired the brake and neutral and didnt work i can move the floor shifter into 2x and it and unlock the hubs and then drive and the rear end is still in a low gear cause the transfer case wont shift over to 2x. i looked at the linkage its not damage both chains are still good. the shifter moves well to 2 but wont change out i tried driving in reverse for about a mile to try to disengauge it but still nothing|

|I engage the 4x4 but it did not work the 4x4 light on dash came on i was stuck and was pulled out and i switched back to two wheel dive and the 4x4 light stay on in two wheel dive and will not turn off 4x4 dose not work help. |
|I drove 80 miles last night stuck in 4 wheel low. Woke up this morning, found this forum and tried your suggestion. Transmission in neutral, foot on the brake, shift from 4 wheel low to 2 wheel high, viola! Worked like a charm. Thanks Chuck.|

and the truck is not in four wheel drive. When I first
start the truck it makes about 4 clicking noises and the
light remains on. Any advice would be appreciated.
