Ford-F150 - Picking between trucks is tough, I'm thinking of F-150 and I need advice

We're buying a truck to haul my husband's motorcycles to the track around california. I've never really even driven a truck and we're talking about an F-150, or a GMC Sierra, or Chevy Silverado. Can anyone help me understand which of these will be the easiest for me to handle and the most comfortable to drive long distances in? thanks! See web link for exact cars that I am choosing between.

If your only driving highway miles and only plan on hauling a bike, I think the sierra is your best bet. Ford is more of a work horse but not as much of a luxery ride.

I have a 2005 Ford F 150 extended cab with the six and half foot bed. Got the 5.4 Triton motor. The truck rides better than a cadillac to me. The engine has ample power for towing anything. Gas mileage is not the best but I would not trade it for any other type of truck. Just my opinion.Benny

I race motocross so I had the same scenario as you are in. I have a Ford F150 now and I have had nothing but problems with it and it's a gas hog. I had a Toyota Tundra before the Ford and it spoiled me. I only had to put it in the shop once in 300000 miles of use to replace the flywheel on the transmission. It had the 3.4 liter V6 and got great gas mileage and even though it had a smaller engine, it blows my current Ford away in every aspect. Also, when you are hauling bikes to the track you need a truck with a tight turning radius and the Ford needs an 8 lane highway to make a U turn, its frustrating how bad the handling is on the Ford. I am an American, a very proud one at that, I want to buy American but when it comes to trucks, Toyota has them all beat in my opinion. I should know because with my last job I flew out of state each week and I have rented every truck you can think of trying to determine which new one I was going to buy and after driving them all Toyota Tundra has got the rest of them beat. Hey, at least they are built here. The American automakers are just getting their but handed to them and when they make a better truck I will happily buy one. I hope this helps. I've got to fix the A/C on my FORD tomorrow. That's the 4th thing that's gone wrong this year alone. Never again!

I have an '05 4x4 crew cab, 167, 000. great riding truck, comfortable, AMERICAN.BUT, there is a MAJOR spark plug problem that Ford will neither address nor correct. The reluctance to see the problem is a aslap in the face to all of us owners. I love my truck but will not buy another Ford because of the way they have turned thier back on the owners. every brand has a problem that runs throught the line, this is an epidemic that they refuse to acknowledge. That is very un-American.
