2001 F150 no heat

I have a 2001 F150. It will blow heat when your sitting still on a low fan speed. If you turn the heater to high fan speed or if you start driving down the road it will start blowing cool air. Can anyone help with that?

Hi, got into my 2001 F150 xlt truck, the fan worked that morning. I shut down the truck and when i went back later that day.. i had no heat blowing through the vents. i can feel heat from the vent.. but i just does not blow the hot air to the cab. I checked the fuses and they seem fine from what i saw, yet no air blowing at any control setting from the cab. Is the motor shot on the heater fan or is the something i am missing out that i did not check? Hope you can help thanks.

There really isn't a heater control valve. The coolant flows through the heater core at max pressure and temperature is controlled by controlling the amount of air flowing through the heater core. This is the function of the blend door and this is a fairly common failure on Ford trucks. Check for diagnostic information and suggestions on how to repair the system.

Have an 2001 F150 heat blows cold until you get above 45mph then starts blowing hot air, then if your speeds fall below 45 starts blowing cold air again. any ideas?

The problem of the heat that barely gets warm and cools down when u stop can be as simple as low coolant. This is what happened on my truck. My bottle was showing full when cold, but when I started the engine up and started squeezing the top rad hose I noticed that the bottle started sucking all the coolant out of it. I then started dumping coolant into the bottle and it took a whole gallon before it was back to full again. Now i have scorching hot heat. The lines going to and from the heater core should be HOT. Basically if you grabbed the hose you shouldnt be able to hold onto it for more than a few seconds...
