What is the most common causes of the ABS light to come on after driving for 20 to 40 miles. When Engine is shut off for a while and restarted, the process is repeated.

I have a 2004 F150, 4-door, with the 5.4 Triton. I am experiencing some pulsing in the brakes on occaision and after some few miles, the pulsing will stop and the ABS light will come one. It does this about every three or fours days. It seems like it will go through this event, sit overnight, be good to go for a few days, then go through it again. I've read some articles that talk about brake fluid and some that talk about sensors. What could the problem be most likely linked to?

I have a 2005 Escape V6, have the same problem with my ABS light as well.

I have the same problem Quenten identified only I just had my front brakes replaced. Did you ever get any helpful responses?
