05 F150 4x4 won't

4x4 won't engage, no lights on instrument cluster, no mechanical noises from transfer case or front axle. Just removed steering knuckle to replace lower ball joints, after that problem started. Any thoughts?

CHeck for a possible blown fuse or a wire harness that might have come unpluged near the work area

front end of my truck was making noises, like a grinding noise then when i went to stop a popping noise, and i replaced my brakes, but the problem was still there and then it made the noise one more time and now my 4x4 light is not coming on and nothing engages, anybody have any answers?

Have the IWE sensor checked/replaced. It's on the firewall, on the passenger side.
