my sister own's a 2006 explorer, the blower/fan motor for her heater quit working. ford said it would cost aprox.150.00 for the part and a grand...that right 1000.00 to install because they would have to remove the whole dash to install it. is this true? most cars the blower/motor is just behind or below the glove box. thanks

I'm afraid it's going to cost you 1K to fix 150 dollar problem. The same thing happened to me. I took it to the dealer and a reputable independent shop and they both explained that to get inside the heater they had to remove the dash which means disconnecting and reconnecting hoses, vent tubes, electrical wiring. I waited for a year and finally bit the bullet.

Our 2006 Ford Explorer fan blower quit working. No heat in the middle of winter! I don't know if I have the same blower problem as Jim or SadButTrue but our new blower motor costs $123.00 and labor cost $50.00 plus the dash did NOT have to be taken apart. All I know is I have heat blowing again and it didn't break the bank.

My 2001 Explorer lost the two lower heater fan speeds. Only the high speeds work. Research led me to replace a relay located behind the right headlight, under the engine's air intake tube in a plastic box. When I opened the box it contained 4 smaller relays and the larger one I was to replace. I stil have only the high speed. Any thoughts?

Depends on the year for your blower motors. Blower motors in F150's from 07 to 06 i believe are the same.

find the blower motor resistor. find the motor and follow the wires back until you locate it. remove and unplug. ohm out the fusible link and you probably find it has opened up due to the motor not turning fast enough on low speed. replace resistor pack, remove fan motor, clean and lubricate, replace fan motor

I have a 2001 lincoln navigator with a front and rear heater. The rear works fine but the front fan does not come on. Can someone tell me where the fan is located.

A month ago I put a new battery in my 2005 Expedition. The next day the a/c, which had always run flawlessly, would not blow. Turn the knob (front and rear - nothing). The system itself is still functioning fine, just no blowing from the vents. I eyeballed the fuses and they looked okay. Could it be a relay? A dead motor? Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm pretty handy under the hood and would like to fix this myself but I'm not even sure wher the blower motor is! Thanks in advance! Scott

My 94 explorer sport's blower motor works.... but sometime it wont come on. Would that be the relay? or something else?

Had the same problem on the 02 Expedition. Located the blower motor resitor under the dash and below the glove box. Very hard to see though. Cost $24 to fix.

I have located the blower motor resistor in my 2003 Explorer. Does anyone know if I have to remove the 4x4 CM to replace this?My fan quit working on the low speeds, so I am hoping it is just the resistor. Fig I'd rather replace that for 20.00. If it doesn't fix the issue, Im only out 20.00.

I have same problem as naomi rios. It sounds like my actuator that opens and closes the airflow direction is not engaging properly. Stripped gears? How can I fix? I am pretty handy under the dash...help
