Ford-Explorer - Keyless entry code

I am looking for the key code to my 2008 explorer. I tried the code on the sticker in the back window, but it didn't work. I am trying to avoid paying $50.00 at the Ford house just to have them reset the code for me. Does anybody know where the code is hidden? I have also looked under the dash for numbers on a black box and had no luck. Help, please!!

The older Ford Explorers have the KE module behind the trim panel, drivers side, rear. Open the little access panel to get to the jack. Look (with a flashlight) forward behind the panel and you will see a small black plastic box (keyless entry module), I think mine was about (8"X6"), there is a sticker on it that has the original factory code. YOu might be abel to see it but will probably need ot remove a couplr of phillips screws and plastic retainer clips to pull he lanel out a bit.No matter what the code is changed to, that default will always work. I had to partially remove the whole panel in order to read mine, just a few screws though. I found reprogramming instructiions by searching Google, that way you can have your own code and the default still works as a back up. There are guys who sell info on how to do this on ebay etc. but I'm sure you can save the money and figure it out.

I just followed the advice given on this string. I recently bought a used '99 Explorer and it didn't have the keyless entry code. The local Ford dealer wanted to charge me $120 (!) to retrieve the code. (It requires specialized computer equipment to retrieve the code). ;) Answer #3 is right. Just look behind the cover for the jack storage compartment. At the forward end is a light colored module securely mounted. On mine, I gently pried the trim panel away from the module with a large standard screwdriver and with a flashlight, I could then read the 5 digit code printed in bold numbers. Thanks!!!

Anyone know where to find the Keyless Entry code on a 2003 Explorer? The manual says it's on the computer module, but it's not.
