I'm looking for information on where I can obtain an Owner's manual for a 2001 Ford Explorer, on line, if possible.

ebay has them. just search explorer owners manual and there are quite a few both new and used and some are "buy now"

so I'm possibly looking into buying a ford explorer from 98 and it is in excellent shape, but im a little weary about the mileage being 114000 miles. Should I be worried and stay away?

No don't go for the 98 edition dude. You're just gonna buy a car full of headaches. It will be better for you to find later models if you really like a ford explorer. Maybe model 2000 and later would still be good

Hey man , I have a 1998 xlt 4x4 with 88k and the truck is running strong in spite of the lack of attention that I give it. I liked it so much I bought an 04 xlt I know that ford is not supposed to be such a great car but I am very fond of both of these trucks. I alzo owned a 1996 tarus wagon the car was very comfortable but mechanically it left something to be desired. Any way long opinionlonger I think that the truck even with the high miles is a good move.

I ment to say a 99 xlt with 88k. I don't know what the deal is with the 98. There are some instances where a company has a bad year... Good luck !
