Exterior Rear Top Light Flickering

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer and all of a sudden I noticed that the middle top rear brake light above the glass stays on all the time flickering or flashing deemly! Anyone have any idea what's up with that. Any input or help would be greatly appreciated in solving this problem. Thanks SkipperDan! :-)
