recently my driver side window button control stopped working, the mechanic said it was the gem module and said it would be $450 to get the part? I cant even find a Gem module on the internet. What is a Gem module, is there there another name for this part?

GEM- Generic Electronic Module. I have a 96 with same problem. Am trying the junk yards instead of $250 from Ford. My Original Part No on GEM is F57B-14B205-BG. Ford SAYS uPDATED No is F672-MB295-BA.Haven't searched that out yetfor better deal. Can send you link for wiring diagram if you need. And my GEM is beside the radio which I had to take out.Good luck.

John, How did you get the radio out. I have a GEM that thinks the door is open when it is not. When it gets cold enough from the AC, it stops dinging. I'm ready to shoot the thing.I want to take it out and put glue in the chime or something. I got a quote for a GEM for $250 here, without installation.

Hello, I have a 1995 Ford Explorer and I can nt open the two rear doors. The door locks work but when you pull up on the door handle the doors will not open. Is it easy to open up the inside of the door to repair the problem or don't I have to get inside the door to fix the problem of not being abe to get the doors open. Thank you for your help, Frank
