1998 FORD EXPEDITION W/93K miles. As of last night the Battery light came on and the battery is losing charge as I drive. A few weeks ago my car starting acting up. I went to start the car and the tach shot up and dropped like a rock as the car stalled. This happened during the day several times causing me drive the car with a foot on the brake and the other on the gas until I got moving. Once moving the car ran well as long as I did not come to a stop at which time it would stall. The days that i had the problem with starting were hot and the car (black) was parked in the sun (not sure if an electrical component is on its way out).

sounds like the alternator or something with the charging system. the lt usually keeps the trk running not the battery, so if your alt is bad then your fuel pump and everything else cant get power to keep fuel to the motor causing the stalling. hoe that helps, . pull it out and take it to autozone or something like that and have it tested.

I was driving my 98 ford expedition and and all the tacks dropped and when i came to a stop the whole truck died on me. I towed it home and put it on a charger. Once the battery is charged it runs fine but eventually my truck will lose it's charge and die. The check engine light is also on. What are all the options that could be the problem??

2004 ford expedition, was out camping, weather in the triple digits I did not start it for 3 days, got in it to roll down windows, it wouldn't start!!! Got a jump drove it 65 minutes and it died again. Following days up to a week i drove it and no problems. then one day i went to walmart and was in there for about 45 minutes still hot outside, it wouldn't start again. called Les Schwab tire and battery service for northern Oregon they came and jumped me and then i drove it to Les Schwabs battery completely dead, the copper pieace that attaches to a battery post completely eaten through with corrision. got new battery and posts and i haven't had a problem with it till now and now i think the power steering pump is going out. This is my 2nd expedition in the last 10 years i love them..

My '01 Expedition blows fuse that seemingly operates windows, wipers and once started won't allow me to shift from Park to drive. It will start in Neutral and allow normal shift to Drive. Each time I replace fuse it blows and windows, wipers Park brake enable. Any help greatly appreciated.
