I also have a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. I bought it with 69, 000 miles on it and have only put 8, 000 miles on it. when I turn the key, there is a coninuous clicking noise (like a relay that is not working right), but the engine won't start. the noise continues even after I remove the key. after multiple attempts and about 15 minutes, the car finally starts. I have never been a big fan of FORD because of the horror stories I hear from my friends and family who have owned them. I really though FORD finally got their together and started building some quality cars.
2009 Ford Escape with close to 30, 000 miles has problems turning over and starting. I was in Canada and had problems starting, while it sat overnight in a garage. It did start after several attempts. Again a few months later, on Christmas day I tried to start it, but it would not catch. So, I had to use my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville with 150, 000 miles, which starts without any problems. I took it in the first time, but couldn't find anything. What will they tell me again?
My 2005 Escape will not start, I am thinking it's due to the fact that it sat in the driveway for 2 days (we had single digits here in NY) and it's just the cold. But after reading everything about a computer failure, could that be it? It was working on friday, but saturday and sunday it sat in the driveway....anyone know? If the computer is an issue, then why haven't we received a 'no charge' fixit notice?
Mine Escape does this too. I have to get out and either bounce on the back bumper or try to push it forward. AFter I do this, it will start. I dont know why, but it works
I believe Ford Motor Company owes people an explanation. A recall should be done, 2008 wont start
My 2005 Escape had the same problem. Tried all the tricks above, nothing worked so far.
My '09 Ford Escape wont turn over. Anti-Theft was disabled as well as ignition switch. Called dealership and they sent someone over to my house 2 days later to check on vehicle. After they did some checking (diagnostics???) they decided to open the electrical box (computer relay) and pulled out the Fuel Pump Relay and 3 other similar relays. Then the electrical guy inserted a wire to where the fuel pump relay was plugged in and connected the other end to the battery. It worked like a charm and the engine started and confirmed that the problem was the black relay thingy. so they replaced the fuel pump relay and the EEC relay (happens to be the back up for the fuel pump relay too, imagine that). Unfortunately for me the fuel pump relay or any other electrical fuse/parts not covered by warranty.
i've had the same basic proble as you people after replacing the computer box($1494)and still did not work i get a call to either spend 45 more or bring down my extra set of keys .they tried them and it started right up a month later same symptons i looked in the hand book and it tell's you how to magnetize your keys .i followed the steps and it started right up. i was told by my macanic who read up on the subject heavyly.that the first thing he 'll check how if you have problem -- look in the hand book and it tell's you how to magnetize your keys--if it works it's easy , simple and cheap good luck
My 2008 Ford Escape won't start. I think my Anti-Theft was disabled as well as ignition switch, everything lights up and the radio works. It did this yesterday and we called for a tow truck, while it was being put on the tow truck it started again. Any idea what it could be? I would hate for this to happen while I am at work
My 2005 escape kept stalling and was hard to start. Now she will not start? Any ideas? |
