2003 ford escape problems engaging 4x4

its strange i turn on the 4x4 the light on the dashe board lights on, but it doesnt work please help

I am also having the same problem. However when i brought mine in, they said that it was working, because the power given to the rear wheels is much less than the power to the front, causing only the front tires to slide when gunning it on ice or snow.

On the other hand, they said my escape had ABS brakes, when i took it to les schwab, they said i definitly did not have ABS brakes, so i am hesitant to believe ford.

WHEN WE PUT KEY IN THE IGNITION AND PUT FOOT ON BRAKE THE CAR WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE. TOW TRUCK DRIVER CAME BYE AND POP THE CENTER CAP OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND PUSHED A BUTTON AND IT WENT IN REVERSE. IS THIS A RELAY PROBLEM OUR SENSOR GONE BAD
