2001 Escape - trouble starting

My 2001 Escape randomly won't start. Always after I have driven someplace (i.e store) and shut it off. When I come back out it won't start. The car briefly starts, but then it sputters out and stops and can't be re-started. When I try a couple of hours later it is fine. It has happend sporadically in the past. Ford mechanic changed intake gaskets last summer. But it has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks. They can't find anything wrong. Someone at work said it sounds like a a fuel/fuel line issue???
