Ford E 250 crank but will not start

My ford e250 will not start. It cranks okay. call a mechanic. He put starting fluid in the air cleaner and the vechicle works for a while. He changed the filter and the fuel pump but it still wouldn't start. I need help

Try a gentle tap or two on the carberator float bowl as the float could be stuck or the needle valve pluged. Also, I once encountered a fuel tank with mushy paper in the gas tank that was clouging the fuel line. You could try blowing compressed air though the fuel line from the fuel pump back.
