best way is to pull the motor if not youll catch hell i promise if you take it to some it cost about 1200 dollars not cheapif you do so have your water pump change while you have the timing belt off trust me lol.

You most certainly DO NOT have to pull the motor to change the timing belt on the 04 Stratus. You Just have to remove the bolt from the transmission side mound right in front of the cooling fans. And remove the front motor mount. Then use a jack with a wooden block to support the engine and jack it a few inches and you will have all the room you need. BTW, you will need to rent the special harmonic balance puller tool from you local parts store.

how long should it take to change the timing belt and timing belt tensioner on a 2005 Dodge Stratus SXT? The dealershio has had my car for over a week and it is still not complete. They said that they would know something late Monday and I never heard from them again until I called them on Late Wednesday and even then I had no answer. The manager said that he would call me right back and never did so I called back the next day (Thursday) and the manager confirmed that it was the timing belt that broke and that I need a new tensioner. does it really take business day to perform this task? They've had my car a total of 7 days now and are not communicating with me at all!
