Replacing engine 2004 Stratus 2.4 engine

Bought a 2004 with bad engine (wrong oil filter which either worked loose or vibrated loose) lost all oil and wiped 4th rod bearing.

Trying to pull engine, removed everything I could like alternator, air cond comp, power steering pump & mount bracket, all motor mounts, removed bolts from flywheel to automatic transmission, then hooked up to engine with lift hoist now. It appears engine compartment space will prevent moving the engine toward the right wheel enough to allow me to lift engine out from the top??

Anyone with experience that can offer advice???

I plan on pulling tonight 10-21-08 but I am beginning to think I may have to take transmission out also

yea take your trans off first then jack the motor up on the left side .thats if you in front of it then hoist away...its a tight spot it will come .
