My car is stuck in park. The button on the gear shift will not work.

I can't get it out of the park. The key doesn't turn in the ignition and the break seems to be stuck somehow, very hard to press on.

any ideas what can this be?

in most newer cars you cannot remove the key with the shift in any gear but park. the key locks the steering and anc then can be removed. try turning the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. Check your manual or go to the library and look up where the override is to get the shift of park. try also putting you foot on the brake while above.
