I'm looking at a 93 Stealth that appears to be in excellent condition with the exception of the computer. Can someone tell me what's involved in a new computer instal? Cost? Possible future issues? Etc....Blog back here or email me at deansilva@mac.com

I realize it's been three months since you posted this, but maybe you still need the info. The car has several computers. You didn't say which, so I am assuming you mean the engine computer. It is located in the center console just under the radio. Remove both of the carpet-covered panels on either side of the console. The computer for the engine is the one on edge, held by two screws on the drivers side and one on the passengers side. Mitsubsi computers are notoriusly weak in one spot, they used some poor brand of electrolytic capacitors on the main board inside. They will leak and spew electrolyte on the board causing it to short out. The most common ailment is no ignition. (Won't start or run) If you have the ability to work on printed circuit boards or know someone who does, it's a relatively easy fix. The alternative is to buy a new one for about $400. My son and I have three Stealths and two 3000 GT's and I have had to repair the computer on every one. One other thing, I believe I saw a company on line that does the very repair I am talking about, so you might try searching Mitsubsi computers. Good luck!
