can't seem to get any power to the brown selenoid wire. cleaned all contacts, ran a jump wire to straight power to selenoid and got starter to engage. any ideas would be cool, thought maybe ignition switch. also swapped some relays out in the underhood fuse block.nothin......

My 2001 Dodge Neon has had a problem for over a year. I now have it in the shop for the fifth time with the same problem. Sometimes, when I turn the switch, I get nothing--sounds like the battery is dead. I have a new battery, new starter, new cam sensor. Twice, they said the starter relay was partially unplugged. That was a crock, because someone said it is held in place with a clip. This time, I told them not to call me until it is fixed. I know it is not the alternator, because I am not having any power-down with headlights, interior, control-panel lights showing power surges, etc When it happens, my gear shift (automatic) will not move out of "Park" even though the switch is turned on. Everything is locked up. I cannot depend on the car to reliably get me back from a long trip I am about to take, and I am frustrated. I think the problem is in the switch. Anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?

I have a 99 neon and when i try to turn it on it just clicks i just replaced the starter and it worked for about two days then the problem started again. Any suggestions?

my neon 03 starts when it wants to i force it to start by continualy turning the key and pumping the gas and presto it works but getting tired of doing this it has tune up new battery runs well when started sometimes it starts normal no one can figure it out it not starter or bad connection on battery it a tough one any ideas

miles/////seems to me you have a bad cam sensor or crank sensor .because it has to have that input comeing from it to send to your pcm so it can send a output to your solnode to start.

luke//// if its clicking means only 1 thing that your cyolande on your starter is in gaged in needs to disgage means your cyolnode is bad.. your fly wheel might becauseing you problems because its stickinglocking up on the bendents teeth.

chris///does your car try to turnover and dont star is so could be lots of thing could be a fuel filter injectors losing pressure to fuel line....or are you talking about it want start because it like there no power to the ign. for it to turn over .if so it might be your ignition or ign wire or could also be your park switch going bad or a bad wire your have a nutreal swicth and park switch on your transmission...

chris, like jkg was saying, could be lots of things, one thing for sure, its fuel injected, so pumping on gas pedal accomplishes nothing. second of all if you have to keep cranking on it, could be due to a loss of pressure in your fuel system, or a clog in your fuel line, usually at the filter (like jkg said) one other thing you might want to check out is your egr valve, we've had a few rigs in the shop that have had that problem, but once they warm the will start everytime.

My manual transmission, Dodge Neon 1999 has a starting problem. First i was driving it with the A/C on and i was in nuetral at the time and didnt have the clutch in all the way and i killed it. From there i tried to start it back up and it didnt start everything else worked:the A/C, and i heard the fuel pump too, and when i try to turn it over all i hear is a click. If i jump the clutch it will work just fine. So, i think it might be the starter.If i replace the starter will it start and run normal as when i jump the clutch????

I have been having the same issues regarding my 2001 dodge neon starting... I have replaced the starter, replaced the ignition switch, replaced new battery posts.... car is always a hit or miss when starting. It will start fine for a few days or so consistently, but then out of nowhere when picking up a pizza or shopping at walmart, i'll come out and the car will not start. the battery is new as well. It just makes the clicking sound... what can I do?

Daughters 1999 dodge neon just stopped running. The engine turns over yet it has no spark to plugs and the coil is new, new crank sensor, new asd any ideas?

i have a 99 dodge neon when i drive it sometimes it cuts off.

iif i let it sit for about 10 minutes it will start back up.now it want start at all

I have a 99 dodge neon, I had a bit of an overheating issue with my vehicle as the "service engine light" came on and the temperature gauge jumped to hot in about 1 minute. Anyways, the vehicle stalled and now when I take the keys out, the fuse box beside my steering wheel makes a buzzing sound and when the keys are in it stops, also when I turn the key to start the engine I don't hear the starter or anything. could this be an electrical issue?

I HAVE 97 NEON STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING...HAD BATTERY, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED..ALL CHECK FINE CLEANED TERMINALS. SOMETIMES IT STARTS FIRST THING OTHER TIMES ITS TURNS OVER REALLY SLOW OR WILL FINALLY AFTER TRYING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO GO ON WHAT TO TRY NEXT

1994 neon will start fine and run for about 20 min. then die but will start back up again and do the same
