instrument panel 98 Grand caravan

service engine light comes on and the instrument panel dose not work. Has engine light reset but still no instrument panel. All fuses and relays are good, any one with an idea.

98 Dodge Grand Caravan instrument panelService soon light, ABS Brake, Air Bag lights on and no instrument panel operating. Fuses are ok. Would like to know what the problem is. Earle Gilchrist

ok found this on one of the forums and tried it .Take out your instrument cluster its not that hard and dosen't take that long todo .there is the power plug on the back that is cold soldered at the factory .the solder breaks around these pins and you lose power to the panel .a small tipped soldering gun just to heat up the solder enough to melt back on the pins .It took me about 1 1/2 hrs to do and we haven't had any problems since.

I have a 98 dodge caravan and the instrument panel has been going on and off for 7 years I finally was told it was a short in the panel itself. I was total it is $500 to fix I recently pick a new instrument panel up at the junk yard for $35 and it seems to have fixed the problem.
