I had the same problem with my 97, it was the oil pressure sending unit. It is located on the front lower side of the engine block, almost behind the oil filter. Make sure that your oil-level is full, but chances are it is the sending unit. When an engine has a true oil-pressure problem, it will make noise as the moving parts are not receiving proper oil flow. Engine temperature is another telltale sign as lack of oil makes more friction, which will drive up engine temp. To make double sure- a mechanic can hook up a manual oil pressure gauge to get a non-electronic baseline oil-pressure reading to go from.
