In Need of Muffler

I went to a muffler shop and they quoted me $180 for the muffler and pipe that goes from the muffler to the rear! Seems a little high. I know you can't buy a used muffler from a salvage yard, so was wondering whether anyone had any other suggestions. I am trying to save money as I had a heart attack and they fired me! Life sucks when you need to fix your car! Any help would be appreciated.....Mark
