Dodge-Durango - How do you change a brake bulb on a 2006 Dodge Durango?

I bought the bulbs for the brake/tail light buut I cannot discover how to remove the tail light assembly. The assembly doesn't appear to have screws holding it in, just 2 blank faced round plastic "plugs" for lack of a better word. Twisting them doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom Saecker

I'm not a mechanic but I just successfully changed out my break light on my 2006 Dodge Durango. The two plastic pieces that you see are like corks. I took some pliers got a nice grip on the piece and pulled straight out with a few left to right turns, working it loose. After pulling them out you will then be able to remove the light casing. Now you will need a star tipped screwdriver I think its called a torx tip but don't hold me to it. I'm not sure what size like I said I'm not a mechanic so I just used the good ol' trial and error method with the screwdriver set I own. Once you remove all three screws you can then swap the light out. Once the light is replaced and the screws are back in you can replace the two plastic pieces. Be careful not to let the plastic pieces slide back together, otherwise they wont go back in. your best bet is to examine the pieces when you take them out so you know how they work. The knob is on a slide connected to an arrow that expands when the knob is pushed in. You will defiantly see what I'm talking about. Over all very simple to do.
