I am looking for a vacuum line diagram for my 95 Dakota. Replaced head gasket and helper broke a few hoses replaced hoses but I don't think I have them hooked up in the right order. runs great but very hard to start.

hi,

I have a problem with my 95 dakota, i try to describe , what is it.

It's a V8, 5.2 Liter, 4x4.

First of all, few weeks ago the check engine light came up,

right after , the engine start to shake, and inside the cabin was lots of gas smell.

I did't want to go the repair shop, because they charging 100$ around here just to read the code, i was thought, if i replace few things , then will be ok.

So, i have replace the spark plug , the sparks, the rotor, the distributor, oxigen sensor, and the EGR vacum valve.

The problem is still exist.nothing change happent.

Finally i take the car to repair shop for computer test, (OBD1), and the resoult is was :Number 6 cilinder fuel injection does not working properli, so i had change that also.

I was hoping everything will be alright, but i was wrong.The problem still remain.I also was discovering, when the car is runnig about 3000 RPM in idleing, the RPm goes back to about 2500 and it goes back to 3000 again, and back to 2500 and back to 3000 again, and so and so...

I went back to the repair shop to testing again(for free), and the comp.does not show any other problem,

I can't use the car like that.it's eat to much gas, not much power, and the car is not going faster then 50mPH, and of course the engine is shaking like crazy.

I realy want to find out, what is the problem, i will thank to anybody who can tell me what to do, or what else i can check.

LOOK for a vaccumn leak. - a quick simple method is to CAREFULLY- spray a can of carb cleaner fluid along and around vaccumn lines and gaskets, if ther engine smooths out-- withthe extra fluid being sucked in thru leak-- you found it.

ALSO by now all that rich fuel mixture May have melted the insides of your catalytic coverter. causeing a partial blockage.all else failing-- try undoing exhaust in front of cat.allowing engine to breath out.

Most computer controls of the engine idle are set to take over from main fuel management control at about 2000- if idle air controller is faulty and does not assume its responsibilty. main controller - boosts falling idle speed up and tries again. and again and again to get idle comtoller to do its job.

Hey i have a 95 dodge dakota v6 sport. i love the truck to death and it has been passed down to me by my father. its pretty beat up due to the fact that it only sat on the road before i started driving it and by beat up i just mean rust wise, my dad patched it up and so far it looks good as new. anyways the main thing i was curious about is in few years time ill be rebuilding this truck from the chassis up nothing extreme but like patch up any rust raise it new bumpers new paint job with racing stripes possibly the back rack and a little custom on the interior again nothing crazy. The main question i have may make someone laugh and may make me sound like an idiot. but what ive always wanted to do was take out the v6 engine in it and put in a 420 camaro engine in it and change the truck from automatic to manual. the reason for this is again i love my truck but i love the power of the camaro. i was curious if this could be done and if the engine may be to large then id go with a 350 possibly. so if anyone has any idea after your down laughing haha please let me know if this can be done.

while driving down the highway i push the button to take my 95 dakota out of overdrive.now i cant get it back to overdrive even when i shut the engine off.it has been shifting fine

i just put new rotors on my 1995 dakota the old rotors were were down to al most just bought the truck 30 days ago i refill the brake cylinder pump the brakes up started it and back out of garage u could here the rotors grinding then i lost brake pedal so i pull it back in garage lost it again about went thru kitchen could not hardly backup up for the brakes what did i do wrongdragging

95 dakota will not fire. it has been sitting for six months. i get know spark out of a new coil. i took the green and orange wire and put a light tester on them and put a ground on the gtray wire. when i turn over the truck my tester lights up. i put my tester on the injector wire that is the same color and it lights up when i turn the truck over. but i can't get any spark out of the coil. thanks
