Dodge-Dakota - Speed Sensor

My 2000 Dodge Dakota was shifting into a higher gear before it should have and bogging the engine down. The check engine light came on, so I took it to Autozone to read the codes. Only one came up and it said it was the speed sensor near the transmission. I have the new sensor, but I see a lot of wires going down toward the transmission. I am a chick who works on her own cars/truck/motorcycles and have more knowledge than a lot of men. Can anyone give me an exact description of where to look for the bad sensor?

I should add that it's a V6 and a 4X4.

Ok, since no one answered, I figured it out myself. If anyone else needs to know it's on the driver's side of the transmission, towards the back.

Hello, I have a 2000 dodge dakota v6 3.9l 2wd. I've had the same problems with the speed sensor, but after replacing the sensor twice it still doesn't work. I've heard there is a speed sensor differential but i'm not sure. Is there a fuse, relay or something i should check. Any information would be appreciated.

where exactly is the location of the ABS speed sensor on the 2000 4.7L Dodge Durango. Not a guestimate an actual pinpointed location.
