I have a 2001 Dakota 2wd, 4, 7 engine w/ac. I'm trying to find out if there is a plastic deflector beside the radiator. There is one on the passengerr sid that appears to be protecting the ac lines. It seems that there should be one on the driver's side. I'm asking this because the truck overheated and there was a lot of smoke coming out from under the hood and the acrid smell of plastic burning. The smoke was not from the radiator as it did not boil over. I can't find anywhere on the truck evidence of melted plastic. I presumed that this deflector was to divert air to the radiator and help cooling. Help[.
