Brake Trouble

I drive a 91 Dodge Colt Vista and am concerned about my breaks...i took off my rear wheel and was trying to take off the drum to reach the break pad but the drum wouldn't come off...if there is anyone who would be able to help either figure out how to remove the drum or what to do...please help
