HI- First, you need to get more familiar with your new vehicle so you can save yourself some money if you're slightly handy. Go to the link. Sign up. You'll find volumes of info on your tranny. Most important and likely; there's BAD FLUID, which is... ANYTHING BUT Mopar ATF+4. You'll need to change fluid and filter. Fortunately Big W carries Mopar+4 in W bottles of $3! Get 6 bottles. I don't know if you have 4 or 6 cyl. engine, but trannys for 6 are 3 spd. & 4 spd. w/ o/d. Both need the nylon `conditioners' in the MOPAR ATF fluid. Use Chrysler dealer filter- it matters. 3 spd. is somewhat adjustable after pan/filter is off. This means you'll need to drain the transmission fluid. Until recently I would have said to just crack the pan's seal and be ready to get VERY MESSY. But WALMART has an $8 fluid transfer pump I highly recommend. You should get 6 ft. of 3/16"i.d. clear tubing(also @ WALMART)to go to bottom of dipstick/filltube and pump, to drain cleanly into gallon milk jugs, then remove pan. When replacing pan, use rubber gasket AND $12 or so bottle of a gasket sealer the assembly uses; "Great Stuff" in all autoparts stores. Very quick setup time, & ALL MATING EDGES MUST BE DRY! It's the best there is.

My Wife's 98 Caravan is linking fluid like crazy when you drive. when it sits just drips. However, when i refill it with fluid it drives and shifts fine. I took it to one guy and he said I need to replace the tranny or get a rebuilt one. I got a second guy who says that if it is still shifting fine than maybe you just need to replace the seals, Mainly the inner seal. Which guy should we beleive ?? mm

I have a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan. If I crank it up and let it idle for at least 5 minutes the transmission works fine. If I try to crank it and just start off it does not want to take off. Transmission is sluggish. After a few minutes it will run as it is suppose to.Thanks, Doug

94 Dodge Caravan, Stutters on complete stop to accelerating forwards after driving for about 5 minutes. Acceleration jumps when going in reverse (i.e. I put it in reverse, push on the accelerator, nothing happens, rev a few times, JUMPS back). Randomly stalls when switching gears (just driving, speed up, I can hear the car revving, suddenly jumps into gear with a burst of acceleration).Stupid car

94 Dodge high Top conversion van tranny problem. The vehicle travels ok for 100 feet then the tranny starts slipping and the motor revs freely and we done. What causes this? How should I fix it? Thanks
