I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and am experiencing the exact same problem. I had similar problem with my 1999 Dodge Durango but it was with the High Beams not the turn signal. It involved the same switch.
The fix then was to replace the turn signal switch unit. I figured that was a big job, however after talking to my mechanic he told me that it took about 10 minutes. He showed me the part it is really really really simple. unscrew 4 screws, take off steering column cover, unplug the old module, plug in new module and off you go.
I just got done pricing the part and so far the cheapest place to get it is at your local dodge dealer. It can be picked up at a Dodge dealer for $52.85 here in Pittsburgh.
Am having the same problem with 2007 Grand Caravan.
Where is the "turn signal switch unit" mentioned previously? I get it is in the column... Is it readily visible and/or labeled?
I have the same problem. Drivers behind me must think I'm nuts. If I hold the stick in the position, it will signal correctly... 4 months into this issue, I'm still waiting for bf to get it fixed.
Our thermostat also gives false readings. Our battery drains really fast. Our passenger side window is no longer functioning, thankfully it's in the closed position.
But the latest strange thing that happened was, we went to Walmart to do christmas shopping. When we pulled in & parked, I turned the van off, we got out, and as we went to walk away, we noticed that with no power, the brake lights were stuck on. After the battery died (again!) we got a boost, and the brake lights were still ON. We removed the fuse and hand signaled our stops all the way home, in Xmas madness.
This morning, at -14 or so, the van will not start... annoying.
My 2006 Grand Caravan had the same problem - left signal would often blink for a right turn. Replacing the turn signal switch unit fixed the problem. I opened up the old unit and found black grease on the turn signal contacts. On the other contacts the grease was clear. My ohm meter showed the contacts were partially shorted out. Wiping off the black grease improved the reading. I haven't tried it, but I'm guessing the old unit would work OK after the internal contacts were wiped off.
Same thing on my 05 GC, pulled the switch assembly, took the cover off, like reply #4, cleaned the contacts and replaced the di-electric grease and reassembled.
Re-installed the same switch assembly back into the van and haven't had any issues since (1 year ago).
Bottom line . . . dirty contacts. So don't go out and buy a switch assembly, just clean the one you have.
PS you need a set of star screwdrivers.

Brilliant. Took your advice and it worked like a charm. After fiddling around with re-assembling the circuit board in the proper manner (so the intermittent wipers worked correctly), the turn signal works perfectly. Thanks for the advice!!!!

Our problem is that the left turn signal continues to indicate a turn after the turn has been made. Rt signal is fine. I can hear the actuator trying to click off the signal while returning the steering wheel to the go-that-away direction but it just doesn't have the oomph. Is the cover easily removed? I don;t want to be 2 inches from the center of the wheel when the airbag decides it doesn't like me to be that close.

You shouldn't even BE in the steering column with the cover off unless you first disconnect the battery - that's just standard safety protocol - no work on electrical, dash, lighting, charging, etc unless the battery is disconnected
