Dodge-Caravan - 2001 Caravan, turn signals & front wipers

Hey everybody, I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan that is having some strange problems at this particular point in time. When I attempt to use the right-turn signal, occasionally the left hand turn comes on instead. Also, when I attempt to use the left hand turn signal, nothing happens. However, when I pull back the lever as if to turn the brights on, it seems to temporarily straighten itself out. It seems that now, the wipers do not work as they should, either. Is there something wrong with the lever stick? Is it a fuse? What do you think about this? Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks -Robert

We had the same problem with the turn signals in our 2005 Grand Caravan. The turn signal master switch was bad. It was covered by the warranty.

I have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with the EXACT same problem and the EXACT same temporary fix...flipping the brights on. Will check with my dealer and see if the problem is caused from a bad turn signal master switch.

This problem is commen for Caravans. I have worked for Chrysler for many years and have fixed this same problem. The multi function switch is faulty. The switch is voltage coded and whenworn or faulty it sends incorrect coding to control modules, This causes either phantom wipers or incorrect turn signal operation. The switch is not directly wired to signals or wipers.

Dodge caravan sport 2001, bad wipers, turn signals, hi/low beam function. 60k miles. replacement $70. I have had several Dodge vans and stuff just fails prematurely.

Does that switch also work the electtronic doors? All of the sudden my passenger dome light quit working, the passenger turn signal blinks in hyper mode, and the passenger door will not open or close with the button function. What's up with that?

Changing the turn signal master switch on steering column not only fixed the problem, but is a easy and quick repair..
