Dodge-1500 Pickup - transmission or ignition problem

Happens mostly during highway driving-while cruising at speed, when I ease up on the gas pedal. Just as the "load" comes off of the transmission it seems like the trans jerks and bangs in and out of gear. Give it a little pedal and it stops, get off of the pedal a little and it stops. Been to the shop, no codes. Vacuum check-ok. I do have a bad rear ABS sensor that I haven't changed yet.

automatic transmission is the most-easy-to-break part of the car. A friend of mine got burnt her automatic transmission in 20 mins. and it cost her for almost $2000 to rebuilt it! Improper fluid type can damage the transmission. Just first check the transmission fluid condition.

I have been having the same problem with my '95 dodge ram. Every time a new gear kicks in, My RPM's fly up to around 4000. I think the gear isnt shifting fast enough and its shifting a lot later than it should. Any suggestions?

Transmission Problem:I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Quadcab 4X4, with 5.9L V8 gas engine and automatic Tranny with overdrive on the column. The truck drives great but when I stop and put it in park the vehicle rolls forward or back. It doesn't hold itself in Park. All the other gears work fine, theres no obvious leaks, the fluid is full and doesn't smell burnt? Any Ideas? R.

I have replace the 5.2 motor using the existing transmission in a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The transmission worked properly before the engine change. Now it will not shift, and all of the dash board gauges and lights do not work. Help!

I have a whining sound in rear end. It increases as you speed up. Could it be wheel bearing or rear end. It is a 2001 1500 Ramquad cab with 5.9 liter engine. 106, 000 miles on it. Thanks, Lynn
