I have a 2002 1500 with a 5.9 and sometimes when I hit the brakes hard the Check Engine light comes on and the oil pressure guage goes to 0. As soon as the truck comes to a stop the light goes out and the pressure guage goes back to normal.Oil level is good and changed on a regular basis. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim

Reply for Gary (65.215.14.115) - Wed Jan 21 15:17:00 2009I have the same Dodge as yours 2005 4.7liter and the issue as far as I'm concerned is extreme cold 20degrees or less "Check gauges" and NO OIL Pressure , when the temp is warm it never happens. Augie B.

The problem is the Oil pressure sending unit. Get the dealer or repair shop to clean the contacts or replace it. It's not an expensive sensor and this will fix the issue.Cheers
