My 21 year old daughter just bought a 2004 PT Cruiser with 53, 000 miles. We have heard all kinds of bad reports but she fell in love with the car as soon as she saw it. They did give her a warranty. I'm looking for people with positive experiences as it's too late to change her mind. We just want to be able to tell people there are good Cruisers. Everyone seems to have negative things to say.Thank you.

I had a 2004 PT, and I absolutely loved it. We've never had any problems with it. The only issue I had, and the only reason I don't still have the car, is that the seat is really high for a person who is 5'00"- only the Limited edition has adjustable height- so that's what I'm looking for now! I don't think I'd own another car otherwise. Is it perfect? No. It's a slightly rougher ride than some higher end cars, but I never really thought about or noticed it when I was driving. The gas mileage is not as good as some other cars, but it's great for an SUV, which it is sometimes considered. I could fit an amazing amount of stuff in it when I needed to. And it is just a really fun car to drive. How many cars make a person smile every day (within a normal person's budget)? It has a great safety rating, too. Every individual car is different, but I suspect she won't regret her purchase.

I forgot to say that everyone I personally know who has had one has loved owning it. I never hear bad reports from PT owners, just "outsiders".
