I was looking for some help. I have a 2004 3oom the car has over a 100k on it. I recently took it to emission it failed like i knew it would. It came up that i had a misfire on 1 and 3, also that it was running rich on bank number onE. I was hoping someone could give a a idea on what might be causing this. Any information you have i will be very thankful for getting.

i had a simular problem. it started as just #1 then progressed to 1, #, &5 dealership said they would have to tear engine apart to inspect valve and injectors. i only had 20k on car at the time. i told them not to touch my care that they didn't know what they were doing. i took the car to midas who checked the code and found the bank 1 oxygen sensor code. I replaced the sensor myself for 23.00 i havent had aproblem since six months and still going a think its safe to say that fixed it.

Engine light came on and had a miss fire - care was idling terribly. Bought an inexpensive code reader and found that the number one cylinder was having issues. Referenced the code in the included manual and also researched the code online ... forget the code number.. replaced the injector and have had no problems since. Oh, and i cleared the check engine light too. :)
