Chevrolet-Tahoe - Speedometer and rear heat problems

I love my Tahoe except for a couple of problems. I am having the same problems with my instrument cluster that the 03-04 Tahoes have. The speedometer is currently sitting at 80mph and it is parked in the garage. I called Gm and they said mine wasn't under the bulletin so they wouldn't pay to fix it. Dealer said $525.00 to fix. I am also having trouble with my rear heat. It only blows cold air. Looked in owners manual said it could take up to 20 minutes to work, still no warm air. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I have just had the same situation with my 03 Tahoe. I was parked last night and looked down and noticed my speedometer at 70 mph. I am researching to find a way for us to make G.M. take responsibility for this obvious lack of equipment qaulity. If this was an isolated incident I could understand but thirty minutes on the web shows me this is a problem thousands are dealing with. I have loved chevy my whole life but I have to say the 2 years I spent driving a Honda were problem free.

I just had my instrument panel replaced yesterday for free by a dealership in my old home town. It could have just been that we were old friends, but they said they'd cover it even though I'm an '03 with 106k miles. I imagine there is flexibility from the dealerships if they are willing. HOWEVER, free work is never problem-free: the panel stopped working after 100 miles. I read online that someone changed it himself fairly easily, but I'm still taking mine in today to see if they hooked something up wrong when they were replacing.

my 2004 cavalier speedometer is sitting on 80 also right now and parked. I have taken the cluster fuse out for awhile and then reinserted it; then I have started my car; turned it off and restarted it several times and it readjusts to zero again. This has happened many times and I just keep resetting it...very troublesome. any suggestions on how to keep it set at zero unless I am driving the car? When it is acting up the speedometer jumps ahead at least 40 mph more than what I am driving. All other guages are fine

sounds to me like the speed sensers are bad or going bad..it can cause false readings while driving and while in park.

I had the same problem in my car. I found a website where I had my cluster rebuild for $140. That's a lot cheaper than the $750 that the dealer wanted to replace the speedometer. Here is the address incase you wanna check it out: speedometergaugerepair .com
