2007 vent blowing when car is off

yesterday i opened the rear passenger door after the tahoe had been parked, no key in ignition. the rear vents were blowing warm air. the controls would not light up to t/off or t/on so i got the key and turned the ignition and turned the a/c power off and the vents stopped blowing. is this normal?
