Chevrolet-Silverado 1500 Pickup - Won't start for 5 min.

1990 chevy 1500 350 auto 310, 000 miles. When I turn the truck off for just 30 sec or so it won't start for 5 min. It cranks over but doesn't seem to get any gas. Wait a while it starts and runs great. It sometimes stalls in traffic or in the parking lot idleing when you try to move the steering wheel and load down the moter. Idle may be too low.

I don't know but I had problems like that and it ended up being the fuel pump in the gas tank and also you might try the ground wire going to the fuel pump mine connected to the frame take it loose and clean real good first

I have the new model 2007 silverado ext cab z71 and problem with the truck starting sometimes. Here goes for the thing I'm dealing with. I go and start truck, which works fine but sometimes I will turn the ignition switch and it appears to come on then quites. This may go on for about 3 to 4 times which appears to be the Fuel pump going out. I can then turn the switch but not fully on, wait about 10 to 15 seconds then turn key and it will crank and stay cranked up. I had the truck for about 1 year and this has only happen 4 times. Another problem is when its real hot outside, I can go in and crank it, then I here a series of clicking sounds before it actually cranks up. My email address is gnaifeh@bellsouth.net.
