I have a 2002 silverado 1500 it has 127, 000 miles. It just started with a vibration at 45 mph to about 50 mph then goes away. Is this a tires issue or something mechanical??

Hey guys, I just purchased a new Chev Silverado 2008 4X4 single seat 1500 pickup 4.8 V8; it vibrates from 50 to 65 miles per hour. Does anyone know the cause and how to correct the problem? Comments and suggestions eagerly requested. Thanks, Joe Miceli, 301 526 7643

Shaking at speed ranges is usually cause by tire and wheel balance. If you feel the shake more in the steering wheel it is probably the front tire and wheels. If the shake is felt more in the seat it is probably the rear tire and wheel balance. If the truck shakes slowly at 0-10MPH you probably have a separated belt in a tire.

Your vibration is called "beam shake" and is caused by the "C" shaped frame vibrating under certain road conditions ans speeds. GM's solution is to install new, softer body mounts under the back of the cab to dampen the vibration. It helped about 75% and then I put in some Ranch 5000 shocks all around to cure the rest of the vibration.

Front wheels shake when applying brakes at 35-50 miles per hour.I assumed it was due to rotors being warped???. I replaced rotors, calipers and pads, still get wheel shaking as before. I can feel the shaking in the steering wheel. When I release brakes the shaking goes away. I did not turn the new rotors down because they were supposed to be NOT REQUIRED. Can anyone tell me what to check next????

I have a 2006 Ext Cab Z-71 and when I hit 40-45 at around 1200 rpms and in 4th gear, it starts to vibrate in the middle of the truck like the transmission or torque converter is going. ANy suggestion here?
