Larry (72.242.208.10) - Sat Nov 22 13:59:02 2008
my 1990 chevy silverado truck wont start. I was backing up ( on a small hill slope ) wanting to hook up my boat trailer and move the boat. The truck engine stopped running suddenly and now I cant re start the engine. It was on the low side for gas when this happen however I have added 4 gal of gas.Any suggestions where I might start trouble shooting? This is a 5.7 engine automatic 4 wheel drive

Hello Larry, you probably have your problem solved by now so this post is for you and future viewers. I had the same problem and I solved it by lightly hitting the bottom of the gas tank with a piece of 2x4. The operative word here is "LIGHTLY HITTING". Seems that the filter of my truck was clogged and the directly jarring the tank dislogded enough trash to get it running again. This also works for a weak or stuck fuel pump. This is not a permanent fix however and service will soon be required. Hope this is helpful.

you have a fuse that powers your TBI in your fuse panel and if that go's then your engine will not fire because its not destributing the gas that you need.

The fuel filter on my 95 Silverado is next to the inside of the frame just under the drivers door. A new one is around $9.

My 1995 with a 5.7 wont start after running rich. I was told to change the fuel filter first and try to start it. Seems like this all started after I gased up at Sam's Club gas station.

Ive got a 1990 Chevy Silverado 1500 P/U with 260k miles on the body, transmission and everything else except the engine (that was replaced in December 2002). It's been a good running vehicle for me and I'm surprised that with that many miles, it doesn't make more noises than it does. But this noise makes me nervous because it's obviously affected by movement I'm not sure if it's coming from the suspension or the drivetrain or if the the wheel(s) are about to fall off . I've taken it to a local repair shop only to be told to bring it back "when it gets really bad" (Grrrrr! I'll handle that on my own!).Anyway, I'm getting a clicking sound when I vere to the right (as in a curve. Not while taking a right-hand turn.) The clicking appears to become audible at speeds at or over 35 Mph. The clicking will oftentimes continue after i've come out of a right-hand curve and sometimes, it appears to get louder. The clicking increases with speed. Any ideas and/ or advise? Thanks!

1995 K1500 Silverado 4x4 Ext Cab w/350 (5.7 l) v-8Truck will not start. When I turn the key, nothing happens. Truck was starting perfectly all week. The night before, I had backed it up in the driveway. The next day, tried to start it with no success. Wheel unlocks and turns in neutral. All lights, fans and radio work. I tried to jump the truck with the same result. No cranking or anything noise whatsoever. All of the fuses inside and under the hood are O.K. Any help would be appreciated.

95 k 1500. I'm not getting power to my coil and my injectors aren't spraying. I have 14 psi of fuel inline of filter. I'm either looking at an ignition switch or a fuse link. Any direction?

1999 4x4 Silverado. Frame just under passenger side and seat where fuel pump and ABS located is completly rusted out pow. Rest of frame okay. The cab supports and two cross member are all that is keeping the frame to colapse on the road. Can this problem be solved with welding? Have any others had this type of problem. Chevy dealership says the only solution is junk the truck or reframe it at a heavy cost. Any information would be appreciated. Austin.
