you might have some air in your fuel lines and see if that is the problem

My Chevy S-10 wont start right away when it is coldside . I give it a cuple cranks, after i do that then it will start. What can be wrong. I was thinking that it could be my fuel pump relay because i dont have a fuse for my fuel pump what could it be ?

We have replaced the fuel pump in my son's 1995 S10 pick up, 8 times now. They only seem to last for about a year, some times less. He has tried making sure the tank does not go below 1/2 full, in case it is over heating when the tank is down. Some one told me that we should replace the vehicle's computer? Reason being, errant voltage being sent to the pump? Any ideas? Thanks Wayne Whitehouse

1990 S-10 with a 4.3 engine died while driving and now it will not stay running. It will crank, but it doesn't want to stay running. I thought maybe the distributor cap or not getting fuel. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a 2001 S10 with the 2.2L 4-cylinder and 230, 000 miles. It has the original fuel pump. It recently started to show a lack of power at highway speeds. It wont accelerate up hills at all (usually decelerates) and barely accelerates on level ground. It idols a little rough too. It starts up right away though. There is no miss at all. It has new plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc. It does have orginal exhaust sytem also. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue or an exhaust issue like a clogged catalytic converter? I have not checked fuel pressure.

You need some basic testing. Fuel pressure would be a great place to start. If you don't have a scan tool which tells you pressure, or a gauge, you can crawl under there and check the heat in front of and aft of the cat and if it's a heck of a lot hotter in front it's plugging. Either one is about 50/50, but you have a strange feeling with a clogging cat, once you've felt and identified it you'll recognize it later. It may run hot too. I haven't seen too many cats make it to 230K. "For testing purposes" I have welded two 14" chisels together and broke all the stuff out of the at so I could road test it to see it has cleared up. Always return your emissions system to stock once you have found the problem blah blah etc etc etc.
