hey, i have a 1997 s10 2 w/d ext. cab pickup. the problem is the windshild wipers work sometimes and sometimes they won't. is this a wiper motor or wiring problem? was there a recall on this problem or can you help? (the rains are coming)

it is the motor if they dont start and you tug on them and it starts it is forsure but it is common on s10s for them to fail

it is absolutely your wiper motor. Replace it. Mine did the same thing . Then all of a sudden they will not work at all.

i have a similar chevy pickup that had the same problem and i fixed it by pulling the plastic cover off of the wiper motor, pulling out the circuit board and adding some solder where the plug wires go into the circuit board

I'm having the same problem with my Chevrolet S10 1997. Sometimes the wipers stop, but if I tug on them while turned on, they will start again. My question is, can I fix this myself. Even though I'm a lady, I've made several repairs myself. What I need is instruction on how it needs to be done. Where can I find instructions on replacing the wiper motor.

My 2000 Chevy S-10 Windshield wiper on the drivers side has stopped moving, but the passenger side is ok. How do I remove the wiper arm to check to see if the nut is loose? Thanks, Pete
